Caroline Grogan is a New York-based actor, voice-over narrator, and teaching artist. In addition to performing, Caroline is the Education Director & Social Media Manager for Bedlam Theatre Company, Executive Artistic Director of the arts nonprofit, Zara Aina (zaraaina.org), and she runs her own classes for kids in NYC. Deirdre is retired from many years of service as a trustee of the Rhinebeck Central School District Board of Education, having been elected for five consecutive terms and serving as Board president for two terms. She is a trained mediator with the Mediation Center of Dutchess County, mediating family, workplace and small claims cases. She is also a trained facilitator and volunteers with a Poughkeepsie-based project helping to facilitate community meetings. Deirdre raised two children who went through the Rhinebeck public schools and, previously, has been a community organizer in public housing, a public health educator and a bookseller.

Ashley Garrett is an American photographer based in New York City. She specializes in production photos for theater, music and dance, and portraits for

individuals and groups. Her work has been exhibited in New York, Boston, Berlin, London and Rome. Prior to becoming a full time photographer, Ashley spent close to 20 years managing the All Souls Soup Kitchen, a privately funded organization that serves more than 25,000 hot sit-down meals each year. Ashley serves on the boards of the NYC Autism Charter School (where she also teaches photography), Statement Arts (a not-for-profit organization dedicated to bringing the creative and performing arts to underserved children), George School and Buckingham Friends School. Ashley has an AB in theater from Smith College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Justin Cimino received his BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, training at the Meisner Studio. He has trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. As an actor, he has performed Off-Broadway and in many other productions in NYC. He has been a teaching artist for over 15 years. 


Justin teaches acting and movement in the BFA Acting Program, and acting in the Commercial Dance Program, at Pace University. He has directed and taught clowning and devising at NYU Tisch, Columbia University, The Studio/NY, The Public’s Shakespeare Initiative, Terry Schreiber Studio, Smashworks Dance Company, and Terry Knickerbocker Studio, where he has built out Clown and devising levels I-IV. Justin has taught classes in solo show creation, and has workshopped his own solo work with Austin Pendleton at the Director’s Company.

In 2015, Zo joined Zara Aina as a movement specialist, where he played a pivotal role in developing and adapting the artistic curriculum to ensure that every beneficiary received a comprehensive and enriching education. His background in sports studies has been instrumental in creating effective training programs for new generations of dancers and dance teachers, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to thrive in their artistic pursuits.

Since 2017, Zo has taken on the role of Program Director at Zara Aina, where he actively seeks partnerships and develops projects that incorporate Theater for Development (T4D). His vision is to empower communities through the arts, using dance and theater as tools for social change and personal growth.

With a rich background in dance and a deep commitment to education, Zo continues to inspire the next generation of artists in Madagascar, fostering a vibrant cultural landscape and promoting the transformative power of the arts.

As a playwright and trainer, he is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of artists while preserving and innovating traditional Malagasy music.


In 2017, Solofo began sharing his wealth of knowledge as a teacher at Zara Aina, where he inspires young minds through music and theater. His commitment to education and cultural preservation is evident in his work, as he strives to empower students to explore their creativity and embrace their heritage.


Since 2024, Solofo has embarked on an exciting new chapter in his career, collaborating with the renowned Malagasy artist Eric Manana. This partnership has taken him to stages across Europe, La Réunion, and Mauritius, further showcasing the beauty and depth of Malagasy music to a global audience.

With his multifaceted talents and unwavering dedication to the arts, Solofo continues to make a profound impact on the cultural landscape of Madagascar and beyond. His journey is a testament to the power of music and storytelling in connecting people and preserving traditions for future generations.

Graduated of INSCAE, a management school, Alex began her career with CARE International as an emergency program assistant. She then joined a company of telecom products where she stayed for almost 10 years. In 2017, she was Junior Brand Manager for a food company before joining the ZARA AINA team in 2018 as Operations Man

Graduated of INSCAE, a management school, Alex began her career with CARE International as an emergency program assistant. She then joined a company of telecom products where she stayed for almost 10 years. In 2017, she was Junior Brand Manager for a food company before joining the ZARA AINA team in 2018 as Operations Manager.


Passionate about music in general and singing in particular, Alex took private lessons with the soprano Holy Razafindrazaka who is the founder of LAKA, an association that promotes art and classical music. With LAKA, Alex played Metella in Jacques Offenbach's operetta “LA VIE PARISIENNE”, Augustine Brémond in Isabelle Aboulker's opera “LES ENFANTS DU LEVANT” and Rafiki in the revival of the musical “LE ROI LION”.


Alex enjoys interacting with young people, having worked with them since joining the Scouts in 1992. She became a Cub Scout leader in 1998, and remained so for almost a decade. Alex also teaches catechism to young teenagers.


Alongside her work with ZARA AINA, Alex teaches singing and music theory at the National Academy of Arts and Culture.
